Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about language, psychotherapy, urgent appointments, payment, and more. Didn't find yours? Call or write to us.
What language are visits in?
English — Dr. Silverman's native language; he practiced in Toronto for over 40 years. His Hebrew is basic, so simple matters can be handled in Hebrew. If you prefer Hebrew, you are welcome to bring a family member to help translate.
How is medical psychotherapy different from seeing a psychiatrist?
Dr. Silverman is a physician who practices psychotherapy. He can see someone who might otherwise wait for a psychiatrist, prescribe medication when needed, and often offer a shorter wait than a psychiatry referral. He works privately and is not a hospital psychiatrist.
Can I get a same-day appointment for something urgent?
For urgent problems, call or send a WhatsApp message in the morning to 055-771-4459 — the schedule keeps room for urgent visits whenever possible. In a medical emergency, always call 101 (Magen David Adom) first.
Where do you do home visits?
Home visits take place in Zichron Yaakov and the surrounding area; the fee starts at the listed price, depends on distance, and is confirmed when you book. Visitors staying at a hotel, zimmer, or vacation rental can book a hotel visit the same way.
How do I pay?
You can pay at the clinic or securely through the online payment page on this site. The exact fee is confirmed with you in advance, when you book.
Do you work with the kupot holim?
The clinic is private, so visits are paid for privately. Depending on your supplementary or travel insurance, your insurer may reimburse all or part of the cost — check with them and keep your receipt. Referral suggestions from this clinic are to private specialists, not through the public kupat holim network.
Can I see the doctor outside clinic hours?
Yes — after-hours and night visits can be arranged by phone, for an additional fee. Call 055-771-4459 and we will find a time. In a medical emergency, always call 101 (Magen David Adom) or go to the nearest emergency room.
