About the doctor

A Toronto family physician and medical psychotherapist, now in Zichron Yaakov

Dr. Mark Silverman practiced in Toronto, Canada for over 40 years as a family doctor and a psychotherapy practice — with training in hypnosis, psychodynamic therapy, basic CBT, mindfulness meditation, psychodrama, and holotropic breathwork. He now offers medical consultations and psychotherapy at his clinic in Zichron Yaakov.

Decades of working as both a doctor and a psychotherapist taught him that listening is most of the job. Appointments here are not rushed: there is time to understand what is bothering you, what your day-to-day looks like, and which treatment actually fits your life — including medication when needed.

Visits are in English, Dr. Silverman's native language. Simple matters can be handled in basic Hebrew, and patients who prefer Hebrew are welcome to bring a family member to help translate. Visits take place at the clinic in Zichron Yaakov, at your home when getting out is hard, or at your hotel or zimmer if you are visiting the area.

My approach

Three principles I practice by

What care looks like when your doctor has time for you.

Listening comes first

Psychotherapy taught me that the diagnosis often hides in details patients rarely get to finish telling. Appointments here are built so you can.

Medical psychotherapy

As a physician who practices psychotherapy, I can see someone who might otherwise wait for a psychiatrist — and prescribe medication when needed, often with a shorter wait.

A clear plan each visit

Every consultation ends with a practical next step — treatment, follow-up, or a private specialist referral suggestion when that is the right path.
